I traveled to El Paso and Cd. Juarez to visit with people dedicated to ministry on the border in both the U.S. and Mexico. They are there to see the beauty of God’s children and to love and serve them. Here are some of the beautiful and joy filled faces.
Here are some of the beautiful ones who love and serve the border people. Thanks Steve and Krysia Heimer!
“How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news” (Romans 10:15 NLT).
We met the 83 year old pastor of this church in Cd. Juarez who is a dedicated servant of the Lord. His “room”? A small space, maybe 3 ft deep and 8 ft wide, enough space for his little bed and a small dresser and TV….in the sanctuary directly behind the altar .
When I got home, I was tired but needed to respond to a bit of my email and this was the first one I opened….it was from my dear friend Angelina, who is a source of encouragement and inspiration to me.
Life Is A Gift.
Today before you think of saying an unkind word – Think of someone who can’t speak.
Before you complain about the taste of your food -Think of someone who has nothing to eat.
Before you complain about your husband, wife or partner –Think of someone who’s crying out to God for a companion.
Before you complain about your children – Think of someone who desires children but they’re barren.
Before you argue about your dirty house, someone didn’t clean or sweep -Think of the people who are living in the streets.
Before whining about the distance you drive – Think of someone who walks the same distance.
And when you are tired and complain about your job -Think of the unemployed, the disabled and those who wished they had your job.
When you have a headache, before you moan -Think of those battling life threatening diseases and disabilities daily. Before you think of pointing the finger or condemning another -Remember that not one of us is without sin and we all answer to one maker.
And when depressing thoughts seem to get you down -Put a smile on your face and thank God you’re alive and still around
Life is a gift… Live it…Enjoy it…Celebrate it…And fulfill it…AND Most of all“Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unaware.” Hebrews 13:2 In the language of the conversation we have had over the last few weeks……..look at the beauty all around you. It certainly is there and it is your gift from God.
