New music from Fusse

New recordings by Fusse on their website. Go and listen:  Also, another competition is coming up Saturday, March 1 at 9:30pm at O’Connells which is a pub/club on Morena Blvd in San Diego.  Tickets are $12 purchased in advance and $14 at the door.  Those attending will be able to cast a vote for their favorite band.  This system of voting leaves the boys at a little disadvantage since it is a 21 and over club and none of the boys are over 21 and neither are their usual fans! If you are interested in supporting the boys, let us know and we can get you advance tickets!

These feet…..

I had the take the “feet” shot of Elizabeth and Andres when we went to the beach .  When I looked at the photo I began to wonder where those feet would take my children as their lives lay before them.

This was a quick layout that came out of those musings.  The journaling reads:  “I hope these feet visit foreign lands and discover a Big, Beautiful world.  I hope these feet walk in humility valuing the diversity of humanity.  I hope these feet stand up for what is right and just and stand alone if necessary.  I hope these feet walk alongside those in need.  I hope these feet go the extra mile for a cause that is true.  I hope these feet play barefoot with children every chance they get.   Especially, I hope these feet journey with those who because of their example, will know what it means to follow Jesus. (Romans 10:15)

New sidebar quote

Well I had the previous sidebar quote for probably the whole of last year…..and I have now chosen a new quote to go with my focus this year on “JOY” and “ENJOY”  Have you noticed that when you focus on something you”see” it everywhere?  Today I opened the Bible and there it was “joy” when reading Psalm 51….then I sent birthday greetings to a special lady celebrating her 80th birthday….her name? Well, JOY, of course.

I have posted some new music, too.  What do you think?  Anyone care to leave me a comment.

Inspiration ….

Did some scrapbooking today with Leesa and a few of her friends (now my friends too)…..and came across this site.  Here are some of my favorite quotes. The site is called Inspiration Peak.

“Don’t ask yourself what the world needs; ask yourself what makes you come alive. And then go and do that. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.”

Howard Thurman

Here is a test to find out whether your mission in life is complete.
If you’re alive, it isn’t.

Richard Bach

To live content with small means; to seek elegance rather than luxury; and refinement rather than fashion; to be worthy, not respectable; and wealthy, not rich; to study hard, think quietly, talk gently, act frankly; to listen to stars and birds, to babes and sages, with open heart; to bear all cheerfully, do all bravely, await occasion, hurry never; in a word, to let the spiritual, unbidden and unconscious grow up through the common. This is to be my symphony.”

William Ellery Channing

“I will not die an unlived life. I will not live in fear of falling or
catching fire. I choose to inhabit my days, to allow my living to open me, to make me less afraid, more accessible, to loosen my heart until it becomes a wing, a torch, a promise. I choose to risk my significance; to live so that which comes to me as seed goes to the next as blossom and that which comes to me as blossom, goes on as fruit.”

Dawna Markova

A funny experiment

Well, I experimented with Youtube!  I recorded a short video promo for our new small group series…..I thought the edit took but you will see me sit down and get up!  I was pretty squirrely during the taping…..I am still adjusting to a retainer in my mouth and trying to enunciate.  This was the first and only take……

A bad week in Tijuana

We have had a terrible week in Tijuana…..lots of assasinations. Innocent deaths too.  Please pray God’s mercy.  It is worse because the police are also the criminals! That is a recipe for chaos and lawlessness.  Only God can heal this land.  You can read more here

I am Jesus’ Little Lamb

I linked the midi file to the hymn in my post of yesterday.  What a beautiful old German hymn written in the late 1700’s.  My favorite line?  “(Jesus) loves me everyday the same”

That is a comforting thought.
