Are you doing what you are doing with Passion?

Have you seen this guy?  Are you throwing yourself into whatever you are doing with joy and passion….whether it is working at a bank or raising a child? What would happen if you did?

As part of a natinal music program in Venezuela (really a program to transform society…) Gustavo Dudamel started taking music lessons at 4 years old and was the conductor of the national youth orchestra at 15 and has just been named the next music director of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra.

Liz turns 19

Liz’s birthday dinner this year was at Shogun Japanese restaurant where they put on quite a show when the Japanese chefs prepare the meal at your table.  Then back home for a Mocha Buttercream Cake!  Of course, the music jam began right after the singing!

100 cards for Lois

My friend and amazing scrapbooker Wilna asked some of her cyberfriends to send a card of encouragement to her friend Lois.

WHY?  She writes here:
I have a friend, Lois. She is 40 years old and has cancer. She is in pain and needs positive, uplifting people to remind her continually to live and that life is worth living. She has an amazing husband and four beautiful kids. The doctors are not giving her long to live, but I believe that God is the author of life. And I know you believe that too.

Well, 100 of Wilna’s closets friends are participating!  You can too if you want.  Leave Wilna a comment on her website and let her know you want to send Lois a card and she will email you the address. This is my card (with prayers and Prov.3:5)

Come alive..

Worth repeating….

“Don’t ask yourself what the world needs; ask yourself what makes you come alive. And then go and do that. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.”Howard Thurman

What makes you come alive?

The Message

Have you heard 1 Corinthians 13 from the message translation?

“Love never gives up.

Love cares more for others than for self.

Love doesn’t want what it doesn’t have.

Love doesn’t strut,

Doesn’t have a swelled head,

Doesn’t force itself on others,

Isn’t always “me first”

Doesn’t fly off the handle

Doesn’t keep score of the sins of others,

Doesn’t revel when others groven,

Takes pleasure in the flowering of truth,

Puts up with anything

Trust God always

Always looks for the best,

Never looks back

But keeps going to the end

Love never dies. Inspired speech will be over some day, praying in tongues will end, understanding will reach its limit. We know only a portion of the truth, and what we say about God is always incomplete. But when the Complete arrives, our incompletes will be canceled……for right now, until that completeness, we have three things to do to lead us toward that consummation: Trust steadily in God, hope unswervingly, love extravagantly.  And the best of the three is love.

Amazing guitarrist.

Everything you hear, he is playing on the guitar.
