Coldplay inspiration

Coldplay loosely inspired by this hymn from the 1600’s.

A hymn by Samuel Crossman, written in 1664.

My song is love unknown,
My Saviour’s love to me;
Love to the loveless shown,
That they might lovely be.
O who am I, that for my sake
My Lord should take frail flesh and die?

He came from His blest throne
Salvation to bestow;
But men made strange, and none
The longed-for Christ would know:
But O! my Friend, my Friend indeed,
Who at my need His life did spend.

Sometimes they strew His way,
And His sweet praises sing;
Resounding all the day
Hosannas to their King:
Then “Crucify!” is all their breath,
And for His death they thirst and cry.

Why, what hath my Lord done?
What makes this rage and spite?
He made the lame to run,
He gave the blind their sight,
Sweet injuries! Yet they at these
Themselves displease, and ’gainst Him rise.

They rise and needs will have
My dear Lord made away;
A murderer they save,
The Prince of life they slay,
Yet cheerful He to suffering goes,
That He His foes from thence might free.

In life, no house, no home
My Lord on earth might have;
In death no friendly tomb
But what a stranger gave.
What may I say? Heav’n was His home;
But mine the tomb wherein He lay.

Here might I stay and sing,
No story so divine;
Never was love, dear King!
Never was grief like Thine.
This is my Friend, in Whose sweet praise
I all my days could gladly spend.

Grandpa’s Day

Today is Grandpa’s birthday!  He went to Heaven in January and almost made it to his 100th birthday!  I miss him but today I celebrate and am grateful for his life and that we had him in our lives for as long as we did…….

My sweet Grandpa.

Fusse at the Epicenter tonight!

The boys are performing new music getting ready to record their second cd.

Fusse gets to help another band along!  The band that followed Fusse ran into some trouble when they locked their equipment in their van!  Fusse graciously allowed the boys,  all brothers from ages 12 -16, to use their equipment. They were happy to help.

The Power of Social Media

For Mother’s Day I shared a video a friend sent me .  You can see it HERE. I myself shared it with about 15 of my friends (who I am sure sent it on etc.)  I was wondering how many received it as a result of the multiplying factor from the ones just I sent along when I received an email from the organization that developed this video that reported  the video was shared with 10 million people…..10 MILLION……. in the space of a week!  Wow!

“Defined by my relationship with Jesus”- a good goal.

rachelfam.jpgAfter four and a half years of vigilantly fighting breast cancer, Rachel Barkey, a 37-year-old wife and mother of two was diagnosed with terminal cancer.

Rachel’s story is not unlike what thousands of women around the world have experienced. A diagnosis that changes a woman’s life and inevitably takes from her what we consider to be most precious.

But for Rachel the essence of life is found in her relationship with God through Jesus. And that’s why Rachel is convinced that death is not dying.

Watch Rachel share her story of trusting God in the face of death. “Cancer does not define me,” she says. “Neither does being a wife or a mother. All these things are part of who I am but they do not define me. What defines me is my relationship with Jesus.” (Hat Tip: Girl Talk)
